Victoria’s 2025–26 Skilled Migration Program Now Open

Good news for skilled professionals, Victoria’s 2025–26 Skilled Migration Program is officially open!

At this stage, the Australian Government’s Department of Home Affairs has provided an interim allocation, with the full allocation to be confirmed soon. Here’s what’s currently on offer:

  • Skilled Nominated Visa (subclass 190): 200 places

  • Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa (subclass 491): 180 places

These numbers are just the initial allocation, and more opportunities are expected once the full program is announced in the coming weeks.

Already submitted an ROI?

If you’ve already submitted a Registration of Interest (ROI), there’s no need to reapply, your current ROI will still be valid for consideration under the new program year, unless your details have changed.

Thinking of applying for the first time?

Here’s what new applicants need to do:

  • Check that you meet the eligibility requirements for Victoria’s skilled migration program.

  • Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) via SkillSelect.

  • Lodge your ROI with the state of Victoria.

Visa pathways available:

Victoria’s skilled migration program includes two key visa options:

  • Skilled Nominated Visa (subclass 190): A permanent visa that allows skilled workers to live and work anywhere in Victoria.

  • Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa (subclass 491): A temporary visa for those who plan to live and work in regional Victoria, offering a clear pathway to permanent residency through the subclass 191 visa later on.

If you’re a skilled professional looking to call Victoria home, whether you’re already here or overseas, now’s a great time to start your application process.

Queensland continues to seek skilled talent to fill critical workforce gaps across industries that support the state’s growing economy.

The program nominates for two key skilled visa subclasses:

Depending on your background and current situation, you may be eligible under one of the following pathways:
